Having previously attended SAIT Polytechnic, Brandon is currently upgrading his education through the University of Calgary's Energy Engineering program, where he is currently in his final year. From SAIT, he graduated from the Petroleum Engineering Technology Program, where he was exposed to all areas of the Petroleum Industry from the reservoir to the end of midstream operations. He has interned both as a Petroleum Engineering Intern at Gran Tierra Energy and as a Technical Trainee – Hydraulic Fracturing Division at Trican Well Services. Through both roles, he learned the basics of repetitive task automation through scripting languages such as VBA and Python coding languages and was pleased to develop tools and resources that other engineers could make use of.
Having been an active member of PES for the last 2 years, first as a member then as the Energy Engineering Representative, he now serving as the Director of Membership. Concurrently this year, he is also serving as the Society of Energy Engineers VP Internal.
