Canadian Well Logging Society (CWLS)
The CWLS is the oldest organization devoted to log analysis, incorporated in Calgary, Canada in 1957. In that time the society has endeavored to produce a technical journal with a Canadian slant. The CWLS is thus an appropriate place for those interested in exploring mineral resources in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, the Canadian Arctic, offshore eastern Canada and southern Ontario. Currently the CWLS has over 600 members and over 100 student members.
Our Connection:
Since its beginnings, PES has maintained a strong affiliation with the CWLS both on and off campus. Every year, new PES members get entered into the CWLS database and their names appear in the CWLS Insite magazine. The CWLS also hosts regular technical luncheons downtown and will often reserve positions for PES internship members to attend these events at no cost. We are proud of our ongoing relationship with the CWLS and look forward to another successful year of shared knowledge, activities and networks!
