Nicolas is currently completing his second year of M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Calgary. Nicolas obtained his B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Santander Industrial University (UIS) in Colombia. He has experience as an intern in Artificial Lift Systems from Schlumberger and Bio-Oil upgrading in a MITACS Accelerate Project as part of the Catalyst for Adsorption Fuels Energy Research Group. He strongly believes in environment conservation and circular economy as pillars for a healthy society's development, where waste (including from energy production) could be transformed into useful elements in society's growth. In his free time, he likes doing sports (squash, biking, Ice skating, hiking), reading and travelling. As Director of PetroBowl, Nicolas aims to have the University of Calgary compete in the PetroBowl finals and become one of the top 3 teams worldwide.
