Northern Alberta Oil Sands and Energy Trip

Join us for our yearly tour!

The annual PES Northern Alberta Oil Sands and Energy Trip will be taking place over this reading week, from the morning of February 18th to the evening of February 20th.

Students will visit companies in Edmonton such as Stream-Flo Industries and Precision Drilling which specialize in providing drilling technology services as well as oilfield equipment to the oil and gas industry. We will also be visiting MEG Energy’s steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) facility located near Christina Lake. Prior to returning to Calgary there will be time to visit the West Edmonton Mall.

Participants will travel by bus to Edmonton and Christina Lake. This tour will carry a fee of $35, which will be required to secure your spot.

How to sign-up:
A short application is available here, registration closes at 11:59 pm on Wednesday, February 12, 2020.

Additionally, as part of field policy you must be clean shaven to attend the tour. Space on this trip is limited to 40 students, and in past years registration has been highly competitive!
